The appointment follows the bank’s recent decision to commit to the Irish market for the long term.

The appointment will see CKSK take full responsibility for digital marketing strategy and digital advertising across the KBC brand and product portfolio.

According to Simon Keane, CEO of CKSK: “We’re really thrilled to begin working with the team at KBC. What impressed us was their appetite to challenge conventions and really shake up the financial services category. Already in 2016 they have been winning awards for their digital and mobile customer experience so the shared standard is already very high. We can’t wait to begin building the KBC digital marketing model for the future together.”

Aidan Power, Director of Customer, Brand & Marketing, KBC Bank Ireland, said the new appointment will shape KBC’s innovative digital marketing strategy as the bank becomes a greater competitive force in the market.

“KBC’s growth in Ireland will be based on the implementation of a ‘Digital First’ customer-centric strategy and we are delighted that we will be working with CKSK as we develop and roll this out. We have invested heavily in our digital channels and were the first retail bank in Ireland to offer consumers digital mobile and desktop current account openings and among the first to offer Android Pay. CKSK impressed us with their experience, approach and attitude all of which are crucial when playing a disruptive challenger role in the marketplace. I’m looking forward to working with them and develop KBC’s digital marketing strategy across the board,” he added.
