One Fab Day Launches New Wedding Awards for Irish Industry

The dmg media Ireland-owned wedding platform, One Fab Day, has launched a new annual awards programme aimed at recognising the leading venues, suppliers and professionals working across Ireland’s wedding industry.

The inaugural One Fab Day Wedding Awards will take place on November 5 at The College Green Hotel in Dublin, with categories covering areas including wedding venues, bridal boutiques, photographers, musicians, make-up artists, florists and jewellery designers.

The awards are being positioned as a new benchmark for the sector and will be supported by a dedicated campaign across the One Fab Day website and social media channels.

Irish wedding suppliers and service providers will be invited to submit nominations, with judging taking place over a two-month period ahead of the awards ceremony.

Liz Doyle, Head of Sales, dmg media Ireland, said the awards were designed to recognise the breadth of talent working across the sector.

“The One Fab Day Wedding Awards have been created to recognise and celebrate the exceptional talent, creativity and dedication that exists across Ireland’s wedding industry,” she said.

“Every day, wedding professionals work tirelessly to deliver memorable experiences for couples, and these awards will provide a platform to showcase and reward that excellence.”

She added that dmg media Ireland hoped the awards would become “the definitive benchmark for achievement within the sector”.

The judging panel will comprise 18 experts drawn from the fashion, beauty, weddings and communications sectors.

Judges include fashion designers Helen Cody and Blanaid Hennessy, PR professionals Tara O’Connor and Rob Kenny, Michael Doyle of Peter Mark, jewellery designer Chupi Sweetman, model agent Jules Fallon, and One Fab Day’s Ciara Elliott and Sybil Mulcahy.

Ciara Elliott of One Fab Day said the awards would provide an opportunity to spotlight businesses and suppliers that play a key role in Ireland’s wedding industry.

“The One Fab Day Wedding Awards have been created to recognise the exceptional talent, creativity and professionalism that make Ireland’s wedding industry one of the very best in the world,” she said.

“We are delighted to shine a spotlight on the suppliers, venues and businesses that help create unforgettable experiences for couples every day.”

The awards were formally launched on September 2, with judging to take place through a secure online scoring portal.

Further details on categories, nominations and the judging process are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

One Fab Day is part of the dmg media Ireland portfolio and provides wedding-related editorial, planning advice, real wedding features and supplier recommendations.
