Mirror Media, part of Reach plc, one of the UK and Ireland’s biggest media groups, has launched its fifth website in Ireland.

CorkBeo.ie was officially launched recently in Cork city at a reception attended by Cork City Lord Mayor, Dr John Sheehan, Fianna Fail’s Micheal Martin and the CEO of Reach, Simon Fox.

With a dedicated newsroom already up and running in the heart of the city, led by editor Joe O’Shea, CorkBeo represents the “New Cork” and is a “fresh voice for the Rebel County”.

Reach already has an established stable of Irish media titles, including the Irish Daily Mirror newspaper, RSVP Magazine, DublinLive, Belfast Live, RSVPLive and IrishMirror.ie.

“Reach and Mirror Media have looked at Cork and seen a city and a region that is on the rise – young, vibrant, cosmopolitan and increasingly confident,” said CorkBeo editor Joe O’Shea.

“CorkBeo will reflect and amplify this new energy and enterprise. We want to be a big part of a new era for the City and county – a fresh start for a historic port city and a beautiful maritime region, to tell the story of the Rebel county, it’s people, industry and culture. Cork is changing – faster even than many of us realise – and CorkBeo plans to be a part of this change,” he adds.
