A record 260 entries have been received for this year’s Media Awards which will take place on April 3rd in the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel.
Now in their fourth year, the Media Awards celebrate the very best work, businesses and brands in the media business in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The deadline for entries closed yesterday. The record number of entries sets the scene for what will be the biggest, most competitive and most eagerly anticipated advertising and media event of its kind in Ireland.
The judging process will begin next week and a 32-strong panel of Irish and international media and advertising experts will set about the task of going through all the entries with a view to drawing up a shortlist at the final judging day which will take place on March 13th. The judging panel is chaired by Stuart Taylor, the CEO of Kinetic UK and a former commercial director of the Guardian Media.
As the countdown to the big night begins, the organisers have also announced that two new partners have teamed up with the Awards this year – The Sunday Business Post and Media Central, the newly formed radio sales agency, headed up by Gavin Deans. Other partners include RTÉ Media Sales, Associated Newspapers and IrishMirror.ie.
