David Connor, Founder and CEO at eightytwenty
The Dublin-based digital agency eightytwenty has won a major international account in Eastern Europe, beating off a number of international networks in the process.
The agency, which is headed up by David Connor has been appointed by The Rompetrol Group to handle its digital advertising and marketing business in twelve different countries. The other agencies that were shortlisted for the pitch included Saatchi & Saatchi, the WPP-owned Carnation Group and local agency Infinit Solutions.
CEO David Connor says “We’re delighted to have been appointed to work with such an exciting business and obviously coming through a rigorous test against some of the best agencies in Europe. It’s testimony to the hard work and quality of our strategic and creative offering from both the Dublin and Bucharest teams. The next step is to extend the team on the ground in Bucharest which we have been growing since we moved some senior members there over a year ago.”
The Rompetrol Group has annual revenues in excess of $9 billion a year and owns over 1,000 gas stations in six countries including Romania, Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, France, Spain, Georgia and the Ukraine. Apart from the Rompetrol brand, it also owns the Dyneff, Litro and Vector Energy brands. The group also owns an international oil trading network, through subsidiary companies located in France, Spain and Switzerland.
