Alex Newman to Chair MMA 2014 Judging Panel

The judging panel for this year’s Mobile Marketing Awards has been named by the organisers.

The panel will he chaired by Alex Newman, Head of Mobile, OMD International. Newman manages a team of 65 that spans the EMEA region and delivers mobile centric technologies, products and innovative business solutions to OMD clients. In 2006, he launched OMDUK’s mobile operation, specialising in client education, mobile marketing, development, and strategic approach to mobile. He oversaw the rapid growth of OMDUK’s mobile department in terms of staff and revenues, and the quality of his team’s output has been widely recognised by various award wins, including a Valencia Festival Of Media award for the best use of mobile, a Cannes Lion for best use of technology and an IAB creative showcase award.

In 2011 he was promoted to his current, cross-group and internationally focused role. Subsequently, he has been responsible for shaping and developing the group’s approach to mobility, helping to develop a set of products that ensure OMD is able to lead the conversation and advise multi-national clients on how to maximise new business opportunities in today’s rapidly developing mobile technologies. Alex is a recognised industry figure, speaking at events such as the GSMA Mobile world congress, Doubleclick’s CAB event and various IAB, MMA and DMA events. He also sits on Microsoft’s mobile advisory committee, and the IAB’s mobile leadership council.

Other judges that have been appointed to the judging panel include Fiona O’Carroll, managing director, Digital, Independent News & Media,; Aisling Blake, managing director of Radical; Jim Cassidy, managing director of ISOBAR; Mark Millard, managing director of RMG; John Moore, managing director of Clickworks; James Lenehan managing director of Reep Rewards; Michele O’Keeffe, managing director of Electric Media and Yappy and Jamie Dowling, managing director of VooDoo. A number of other judges will be announced over the coming week, according to the organisers.
