Mysterious Print Ads Get Personal

personal2The advertising industry is always awash with rumours and conspiracy theories and this week was no different.

During the week a number of print ads were taken out across a number of national titles, targeting media personnel by name. Amongst those to be called out were Colum O’Hara from Starcom, David Scott Lennon of OMD,  Ali Donnelly of Vizeum, Fiona Fagan of Initiative, Johnny Ross of Firstcom and Darren Bracken of Group M.

The personalised print ads direct the individuals to a website www.anexcitingjourneyawaits.com which tells them that they have been recognised as part of a select group to attend an exclusive event in November while they are also in with a chance of winning a trip to next year’s Cannes Lions Festival. The only problem is that the website does not shed any further light on the advertiser’s identity and a domain search fails to throw up any additional more information.

We have been reliably informed, however, that all will be revealed next week. Watch this space.
