Radical Hires its First Creative Director

David Howlett joins Radical as creative director.

The digital agency Radical has appointed its first creative director as it continues to reposition itself. Over the last eighteen months the agency has been investing in its CreaTech team with great success across a number of clients, including the agency winning its first ICAD this year.

Howlett joins Radical from rival agency In the Company of Huskies where he held a similar position. Prior to this he worked across a number of agencies in London including Weapon 7, CHI & Ogilvy working across a wide and varied client base including Mercedes-Benz, IBM, Mars and Fáilte Ireland.

“What I’ve learnt since moving to Dublin is that there is so much opportunity here, but I’m not sure any agency has really been able to take advantage of it,” says Howlett. “Radical gets this – they know how search, social and media data is vital to informing insight. They understand how technology and creativity are one in the same. They have an ethic that refuses to cut corners or rush bad work through for a quick buck. Best of all, they share my belief that great work and a great environment is what attracts great people. So my job is pretty much done – I just need to continue working with the team to make Radical a place that lives up to its name every single day.”

According to Aisling Blake, managing director of Radical: “this is a great day for Radical. We are delighted to have someone of David’s calibre as part of the team. Over the coming years we are going to see a continued shift towards more ‘complete’ solutions in digital, and more importantly, beyond digital. I am really excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for Radical as these shifts happen”.
