DDFH&B & PHD Win Grand Prix Award at ADFX 2014

The winning Grand Prix teams from DDFH&B, PHD and Failte Ireland

DDFH&B and media agency PHD picked up the Grand Prix for their work on The Gathering at the 2014 ADFX Awards which were held in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre last night (Sep 4th).

Both agencies also picked up the Gold awards for the same campaign in the New Launch category as well as the Best New Learning category. Elsewhere DDFH&B picked up another Gold award, along with Mindshare, for work with the Jack and Jill Foundation while it also picked up Silver and a Bronze for work with SuperValu in the Long Term Effectiveness and New Launch categories. Finally, the Christchurch-based agency also picked up a Gold, alongside Starcom, for the Daily Million campaign for client the National Lottery.

Elsewhere it was a good night for Rothco and Cawley Nea\TBWA. Rothco and Mediaworks picked up two Gold awards, for campaigns executed for Liberty Insurance in the Corporate, Finance and Services and New Launch categories while  Cawley Nea\TBWA picked up three Gold awards – one with Mediaworks for McDonald’s Trust, and two alongside media agency Carat in the Long Term Effectiveness and Public Service & Social Welfare categories for the HSE’s “Quit #2” campaign.

Chemistry and Vizeum, meanwhile, picked up a Gold in the FMCG category for the Adland Girl campaign for the Kerry Foods-owned LowLow brand. Target McConnells and PHD  also picked up Gold in the Retail category for client Topaz. In terms of media agencies, PHD was the most-awarded agency on the night. The first ever ADFX client award for Dedication to Effectiveness went to McDonalds, which has won seven ADFX awards since they began back in 1996.

According to Tania Banotti CEO IAPI, “The ADFX awards are ultimately about proving that advertising works.  The Irish advertising industry has produced world class work over the last two years; our international judges have stated just that. Campaigns are making a commercial impact in the domestic market. The release of the IAPI Industry Census recently, shows that the Irish agencies are expanding in response to Irish business. The 10th ADFX awards proved to be the best yet and we look forward to what promises to be a brighter future for the industry.”

David McRedmond, TV3 Group CEO said; “Nothing so distinctively marks a country as its advertising and we have seen that brilliantly reflected this evening, which bodes well for a great year ahead for the Irish advertising industry.”

The IAPI ADFX awards were held in association with TV3, and supported by Communicorp, Google, the Irish Independent, O2 Media, PML Group, RTE Media Sales, Screen Scene, Sundayworld.com and UTV Radio Solutions.
