Kay McCarthy to Speak at Cannes Lions Festival in June

Kay McCarthy, Managing Director, MCCP

Kay McCarthy, the founder and CEO of the Dublin-based planning agency MCCP will be flying the flag for Ireland when she delivers a talk at this year’s Cannes Lions Festival in June.

McCarthy was chosen by the organizers of the week-long advertising festival to talk about ‘Planning for the death of planning, as we know it’ which will address topics like data, insight, strategy and creativity.

According to McCarthy, planning sits within the four principle pillars of marketing and is often misunderstood. However those clients who embrace and invest in planning tend to achieve local and global success.   In the half-hour talk, she will also discuss the merits of progressive strategic planning and the importance of creativity in an increasingly demanding world.

According to Jill Byrne, business development director, “We are absolutely thrilled that Kay has been selected to speak at Cannes this year.  As a specialist in planning and as an independent agency, we have always put strategic thinking and research expertise at the heart of our work whilst adopting a collaborative approach. Kay’s topic at Cannes is a bold one and having such a platform is indicative of how seriously the industry insiders consider it and is further endorsement of the innovative work we have become synonymous with and in holding the leading position in Ireland.”
