Deidre Waldron, Managing Director of Cawley Nea/TBWA
Cawley Nea\TBWA has won the creative account for Bank of Ireland following a pitch involving some of the top agencies in the country.
It is understood that the final pitch involved Cawley Nea\TBWA, DDFH&B and Wieden + Kennedy in London. A number of other agencies were whittled out of the process at an earlier stage. Una Herlihy of Open Communications, the agency selection and media auditing firm headed up by Liam Pender, handled the pitch process on behalf of Bank of Ireland.
Cawley Nea\TBWA is a sister agency to Irish International, which resigned the account earlier this year after a 15 year-long relationship with the bank. Both agencies are ultimately owned by Omnicom Group which is in the process of merging with Publicis.
The account win is a major victory for Cawley Nea\TBWA and comes soon after the Rathmines-based agency picked up the accounts for ESB, Dunnes Stores and Green Isle.
