Mediaworks Wins Irish Life Account

Paul Moran, managing director of Mediaworks

Mediaworks has picked up the media buying account for Irish Life after a four way shoot-out with Vizeum, OMD and the incumbent Mindshare.

The account win comes several months after Canadian company Great-West Lifeco, through its Irish subsidiary Canada Life, acquired the business of Irish Life from the Government for $1.7 billion. The newly enlarged business, which now takes in Canada Life’s Irish operations, will continue to trade under the Irish Life brand.

Mediaworks is also waiting to hear if it has retained the Liberty Insurance account after it was put out to pitch. The agency, which is headed by Paul Moran, pitched against the Omnicom-owned PHD.
