Bord Bia has appointed Simply Social as its lead social content agency following a competitive tender process.

The agency will oversee social content strategy, creation and creator management across the Irish Food Board’s owned social channels. The brief covers consumer-facing activity promoting Irish food, drink and horticulture, alongside support for Bord Bia’s event programme.

Based in Dublin and London, Simply Social will combine strategy, content production, creator partnerships and social insights to reach audiences in Ireland and key international markets, with content tailored to individual platforms.

Its client roster includes Tesco, Currys, Gousto, Just Eat and Peroni.

Maedhbh McDonald, head of digital marketing and events at Bord Bia, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Simply Social as we look to accelerate our social media ambitions. Social media has become one of the most influential channels for inspiring consumers, shaping food culture and connecting people with the origins of their food.

“Together, we share an ambition to showcase the very best of Irish food, drink and horticulture through creative, audience-led content and campaigns. We look forward to combining our strengths to deliver meaningful engagement and lasting impact in the years ahead.”

Maud O’Callaghan, managing director of Simply Social, said: “We’re thrilled to be appointed by Bord Bia. Few organisations have stories as rich as Bord Bia’s to tell, from the producers and growers behind Irish food to the events that bring people together around it.

“Our job is to turn those stories into social content people actually want to stop for, share and act on. We’re very grateful to Maedhbh and the team for their trust, and we can’t wait to get started.”
