Omnicom to Close FleishmanHillard’s Dublin Office after 30 Years in Business

The Omnicom-owned PR firm FleishmanHillard is to close its Dublin office after more than three decades in the Irish market.

The agency employs 20 people in Dublin, and an employee consultation process is now underway.

Details of the closure were first reported in PR Week.

An Omnicom Public Relations spokesperson told PRWeek: “Over the past several months, Omnicom Public Relations has continued to evolve how it operates across its global network.

“As part of that ongoing work, we have made the decision to close the FleishmanHillard Dublin office.

“While the FleishmanHillard office will close, Omnicom Public Relations will continue supporting its global clients in Ireland through its broader OPR and Omnicom network.

“We are working directly with each client to determine the approach that best meets their individual business needs.”

The spokesperson added: “The employee consultation process is now underway and will proceed in accordance with applicable Irish employment laws and regulations.

“Our colleagues in Dublin have made important contributions to our business, and we are committed to supporting them throughout the process.”

Clients of the Dublin agency have included Gillette, Philips, Roche, MS Ireland, Fitbit, the Irish Defence Forces and the Irish Derby.

The agency was first set up in Dublin by John Saunders, Rhona Blake and Julian Davis, making it one of Ireland’s longest-established communications agencies. Blake has served as managing director of the Irish business for 36 years, while Davis retired from the agency in June 2020.

For his part, Saunders became FleishmanHillard’s regional director for Europe in 2004 and was appointed regional president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2011.

He subsequently served as the agency’s global president and chief executive before stepping down from the role in October 2024. He was succeeded by JJ Carter and became FleishmanHillard’s first chairman.

The closure comes as Omnicom continues to restructure its global public relations operations following its acquisition of rival advertising and communications group Interpublic Group in November 2025.

The transaction brought agencies including Golin, Weber Shandwick and Ketchum into Omnicom’s public relations portfolio, alongside FleishmanHillard, Porter Novelli and Portland.

In February, it was reported that Porter Novelli, which employs more than 50 people, would become a dedicated brand within FleishmanHillard.

Omnicom Group’s public relations agencies reported revenue of US$679.1 million dollars for the second quarter of 2026, an increase of 82.1% on the same period a year earlier. The increase largely reflected the addition of Interpublic Group’s public relations agencies following the acquisition.
