Newstalk Embarks on Biggest Campaign to Date

Newstalk Embarks on Biggest Ad Campaign to Date, Newstalk the Communicorp-owned radio station, has launched its biggest ever advertising campaign as it capitalises on a strong set of figures from the JNLR which were published this week.

The new TV ad for Newstalk was launched yesterday and will broadcast across all major TV stations, with the exception of RTÉ. The new advertising is a continuation of the successful Move the Dial campaign which commenced last September when former RTÉ broadcaster Pat Kenny joined the station.

“For Newstalk, that instant a show goes live on air, is as exciting and invigorating as any other undertaking or performance that demands total commitment at a point in time. In Newstalk, our presenters don’t hold back; if it needs to be said – they say it. The ad is aimed at people who have not yet moved the dial. It seeks to show the ethos and energy behind the station and its diversity of content” commented Clíona Hayes; group marketing director of Communicorp

The ad will be supported by outdoor, print, online and digital advertising. The latest JNLR figures showed that Pat Kenny has added another 18,000 listeners to his programme to end the JNLR reporting period with 137,000 listeners. However as he only joined the station last September, figures for a full year will give a better reflection of how the show is performing.

Elsewhere within Newstalk, Ivan Yates and Chris O’Donoghue’s morning slot, Newstalk Breakfast, gained another 11,000 listeners after picking up 5,000 in January’s book.
