Mindshare Retains Top Spot in NNI League

Bill Kinlay, CEO of Mindshare Ireland

For the fourth year in a row Mindshare has retained its position as the largest agency investor in press (both newspaper and digital) advertising.

According to the NNI investment into press advertising amounted to €155m in 2013, of which €94m came from media agencies.

The Irish news consumption habit is still strong, according to the JNRS, with over 2.2 million Irish adults reading a newspaper every day and 500,000 people accessing newspaper tiles online every day.

Newspaper content is more than just news, with news rooms around the country fast evolving to deliver engaging multimedia content spanning from news to entertainment to sport. These rich environments provide ideal contexts for advertiser’s messages.

“We’re delighted that Mindshare is the largest spender in NNI titles for the fourth consecutive year”, says Bill Kinlay CEO of Mindshare Ireland. “Our investment in 2013 highlights the strong appetite that still exists for news and informed opinion among Irish consumers. It’s good to see that NNI titles, both in printed and digital formats, continue to deliver impact and sales for a wide variety of our clients,” he says.
