Global has launched a new Digital Outdoor Planning Competition aimed at Irish media planners with less than three years’ experience in the industry.
The competition is open to individual planners and teams of up to four people and will challenge entrants to develop a digital outdoor media plan and supporting rationale in response to a set brief.
The winning entry will receive €50,000 worth of advertising space across Global’s digital outdoor network in 2027 for a charity selected by the winner’s agency. The successful entrants will also receive Aer Lingus flight vouchers.
Global said the competition has been created to encourage the next generation of media planning talent while highlighting the strategic and creative possibilities of digital outdoor advertising.
The judging panel includes Antoinette O’Callaghan, head of marketing, Global; Eoin Corrigan, head of marketing, Domino’s Pizza Ireland; media practitioner Manuel Yocham; and Maxine Hands, head of global media and digital, Tourism Ireland.
Antoinette O’Callaghan, head of marketing, Global, said the initiative would give less experienced planners an opportunity to apply their digital outdoor knowledge in a practical setting.
“We’re excited to launch this competition and give new and emerging planners the opportunity to put their digital outdoor knowledge into practice,” she said.
“We are looking forward to seeing fresh, creative thinking from the next generation of media talent, with the added benefit of supporting a worthy charity through the winning agency’s chosen cause.”
The competition forms part of Global’s efforts to showcase how digital outdoor formats can be used to reach audiences across different environments with high-impact creative executions.
