IPG Mediabrands to Handle Tesco Ireland’s Social Media Channels

IPG Mediabrands Ireland is to work with Tesco Ireland in supporting the retailer’s digital media strategy and media buys for all digital and social channels.

“In this digital age, media is fast paced and ever changing, we look forward to help shaping Tesco’s Digital future. Through our integrated social media agency Society, we also now will be managing all social media channels for Tesco along with our most exciting task of content production,” says Eamon Fitzpatrick, managing director of IPG Mediabrands.

“Society has been delivering successful media campaigns globally for years and locally for the last year. Some of our clients include Tayto Park, National Dairy Council and the Mater Private Hospital. We are thrilled to have Tesco as part of the Society family. This is an exciting time for Society and we look forward to introducing you, our partners, to the ever-growing society team. At IPG Mediabrands we believe collaboration is imperative to the success of our clients.  We look forward to growing our relationships with Tesco’s partners Rothco, Wolfgang Digital and GroupM,” he says

The move follows an international realignment of the Tesco media account which IPG had managed for a number of years. In January 2018, Tesco announced that it was moving its media buying account to the WPP-owned GroupM as part of the international consolidation.

According to Fitzpatrick, Olwen Inglis will be the lead on the Tesco account as account director with strategic support from Sylvia Cawley, client service director and Rachel Hynes, general manager. Viv Maher will oversee the dedicated digital team and Society’s social content offering while Ian Noctor will lead the content creation team as Society Editor.
