Starcom Wins the Grand Prix at Media Awards

Media Awards Grand Prix Winner Starcom

The Core Media-owned Starcom won the coveted Grand Prix at the annual Media Awards for its work with the Heineken-owned Orchard Thieves cider.

The Grand Prix win, which is the top award of the night, brought Starcom’s haul of trophies to five Gold, five silver and two Bronze, making it the most rewarded agency on the night.

The agency’s Colum O’Hara also picked up the Rising Star Award.

Starcom won the Grand Prix for its extensive work on the launch and subsequent roll-out of Orchard Thieves in 2015, one of the biggest product launches in recent years.

According to the judges, “this was a campaign which teased, challenged perceptions and encouraged consumers to #BeBold. It employed clever use of VOD, innovative outdoor and the creative use of mobile and social platforms. Most importantly, it drove awareness and pushed sales well ahead of target.  It was also a really great launch campaign that was well designed and executed.”

The Grand Prix was sponsored by RTÉ Media Sales.
