Media Awards 2016: Carat Wins Agency of the Year

media-agency- of- the- yearThe Dentsu Aegis-owned Carat picked up the coveted Agency of the Year at the Media Awards which were held in Dublin last night, March 31st.

Earlier in the evening, Carat had already picked one Gold, two Silver and one Bronze awards.

According to the judges’ citation, “this was an extremely competitive category with very little between a number of the submissions. Picking the winner was difficult, however there has to be a winner and, in the view of the judges, this year it is Carat.

“Carat impressed in all of the submission criteria and it delivered a compelling case in the initial submission entry and at the presentation stage it was able to demonstrate that little bit extra than we felt made it the winner. Going in to the year with a significant loss of billings, Carat raised its game, reviewed its business and delivered a very impressive set of results for its own business and that of its clients in 2015.”

The Agency of the Year Award was sponsored by RTÉ Media Sales.

Elsewhere, Genesis won the Northern Ireland Media Agency of the Year.

According to the judges citation,” Strong business results including a remarkable increase in media turnover were key here. There was a clear vision and strategy to put Northern Ireland media on the map and this resulted in the raising of standards to international levels. There was strong evidence of the implementation of the vision across all business areas, especially identifying the importance of innovation in media. Genesis is engaging and has a clear passion for advertising.”
