Irish International Ends Epica Drought for Ireland

Irish International BBDO ended a long period of drought for Irish agencies at the annual Epica Awards which were held in Berlin this week.

The Sandymount-based agency picked up a gold for its Guinness Rugby “Anthem” campaign as well as gold for RSA’s “Anatomy of a Split Second.” On top of this, the RSA ad was also voted the best work in the entire public service category and as part of the prize it will now air across Europe on the EuroNews Network for three weeks, leaving the agency haul at three golds.

Established in 1987, the Epica Awards are unique in the crowded awards sector as they are the only creative awards that are judged by editors from the international marketing and advertising press. This year, entries were received from over 70 different countries around the world. IMJ is the Irish representative on the Epica jury.

“Being recognised by the world’s advertising and marketing press as being the very best is simply a fantastic result. We are so proud of our work and to now have this global recognition for Irish creativity is truly awesome. We’re delighted,” says Dylan Cotter, executive creative director of Irish International.
