Core has appointed Andrew Murray as director of social content experience. The appointment comes as the group steps up its investment in its integrated and standalone social content offering.

Murray joined Core in March and has more than 15 years’ experience across brand, social, digital and content strategy. According to Core, “since joining hehas helped shape the group’s  next phase of the offering, building on its strong foundations and driving new momentum. This includes Core’s appointment as social agency partner for Musgrave brands SuperValu and Centra, alongside strategic hires and further new business wins.”

Prior to joining Core, he served as managing director of FEED at TBWA\Ireland, where he led the agency’s dedicated social, content and performance division. He has also worked for McCann and Forsman & Bodenfors Dublin.

“Core had built a solid Social Content offering with great people and strong client relationships. Andrew’s appointment was about taking this to the next level – bringing additional leadership, sharpening our proposition and creating an even more connected approach across creativity, media, data and performance,” said Colum Sherwin, chief digital and investment officer, Core.

“In a relatively short space of time, we’ve already seen that translate into team growth, significant new business wins, and real momentum across the business. We’re excited about the next phase of growth under Andrew’s leadership,” he added.

Social has become one of the most powerful channels for both building brands and driving performance,” said Andrew Murray.

“Too often those objectives are treated separately, but the opportunity is to connect them. At Core, we’re bringing together creativity, media, data and performance to help clients create social content that earns attention, builds brand value and delivers measurable business results.”
