An Post Invokes the Power of Memories in New Christmas Campaign

Folk Wunderman Thompson has rolled out a new festive campaign for An Post. Called ‘Make a Memory,’ the campaign tells the story of how Christmas traditions can unite generations. In it we are reminded that something as simple as sending love with a Christmas card can evoke memories, bring a smile, and show someone that you are thinking of them. In the new creative the Christmas card serves as the special link connecting a grandfather, his son and his granddaughter, acting as the catalyst to triggering a happy memory and bringing a family together.

According to Karl Waters creative partner, Folk Wunderman Thompson: “There’s so much magic in sending a Christmas card. It’s the perfect way to tell a loved one you’re thinking of them, and they hold memories that represent a time and a place. This year we’ll all be thinking of Christmas’s from years gone by, in the hope that this one can mean the same. And of course it can, so long as we connect with our loved ones in some way, and sending a card will always hold the same meaning.”

Richard Miley, Mails Communication Lead An Post adds: “We at An Post know the sheer joy and delight that a Christmas card coming through the letterbox brings for so many and this campaign highlights how, even the smallest of gestures, can conjure up the happiest of memories for many.”

“This year we want to encourage the nation to relish those memories with family and friends and maybe even start some new traditions, like the kids sending a Christmas card to their grandparents, which has the power to spark joy for everyone for years to come’ adds Ailish McGlew, brand communications manager, An Post.
