    Aviva Ireland Launch New Campaign

This September sees the launch of a major new multi-media campaign for Aviva Ireland.

The first commercial to air, called ‘The Dream’ features two icons of Irish sport, Roy Keane and Brian O’Driscoll. It takes the viewer on a journey through games kids have played for generations and leads them to the dream that all kids hold in their hearts: That, one day, they might get to follow in the footsteps of their heroes and pull on the green jersey and play for Ireland in a stadium worthy of the honour. As sponsors of the Aviva, that dream is safe in Aviva’s hands.

The films were created by BBDO Dublin and directed by leading Irish drama director John Hayes through Sweet Media. John has directed ITV’s hit drama Bancroft, as well as episodes of popular programmes such as ‘Vera’, ‘Home Fires’ and ‘Doctor Who’.

Sharon Treanor, Head of Marketing at Aviva, commented that ‘The Dream’ commercial had been developed to specifically address the association between Aviva’s title sponsorship of the stadium and the linkage to the insurance company. ‘Nothing unites and energises Irish people more than sport and our sponsorship of the Stadium and the grass roots programmes brings Aviva into the lives of families all around the country.  We wanted to develop a campaign that celebrates our renewal of the Stadium sponsorship while also highlighting our position as one of Ireland’s leading general insurance and life assurance providers.’

‘The Dream’ will be followed by three commercials focussing upon each of Aviva’s key product categories; Life, Car and Home insurance where they will reinforce Aviva’s market leading position in car and home insurance, and help develop Aviva’s life insurance business after the acquisition of Friend’s First in 2018.

The campaign will also appear in cinema and be supported by outdoor, during the launch period, and ongoing online and social activity.
