Heineken 0.0 has unveiled a new promotional campaign fronted by Irish football legend Mick McCarthy, offering fans a complimentary pint of the non-alcoholic beer in participating pubs nationwide.
Created with agency partner THINKHOUSE, the campaign takes the form of a tongue-in-cheek, noir-inspired short film in which McCarthy channels his inner Humphrey Bogart in a playful “redemption tale” with a nod to one of Irish sport’s most hotly contentious moments in Saipan in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup in Korea and Japan in 2002.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Mick McCarthy, a true sporting legend. This partnership is all about redemption and connection, enjoyed with a refreshing pint of Heineken® 0.0, all delivered with a laugh along the way,” said Mark Noble, Marketing Manager at Heineken Ireland.

McCarthy added: “I was delighted when Heineken 0.0 invited me to appear in this ad. The script had me laughing straight away. The noir style gave it a brilliant atmosphere and I think people will enjoy the subtle humour. If it gives them a reason to smile while raising a glass of Heineken 0.0, then that’s a win in my book.”
Fans can redeem a complimentary pint via complimentarypint.heineken.ie and the offer runs until September 14.
