Marketing Institute Ireland (MII) has launched a new campaign, “Make Your Mark”, celebrating the people working at the coalface of the Irish marketing industry and the different career paths they have taken.
Built around the theme “Real marketers. Real progress. Real impact”, the campaign features personal stories from MII members, highlighting their professional experiences, career challenges and contributions to the industry.
The campaign launches with five marketers: Elaine Purcell, CMO at AIB; Tom Noonan, Director of Brand at Cairn; Roma O’Connor, CMO at Dalata Hotel Group; Claudia Gibson, Assistant Brand Manager Trade Marketing at Irish Distillers; and Dermot Mulligan, CMO at Re-turn.
According to MII, marketing contributes €16.5 billion annually to the Irish economy and supports more than 116,000 jobs.
“Marketing careers are rarely linear, and there is no single definition of what success looks like. Make Your Mark is about recognising the people behind our profession, the different experiences, decisions and challenges that shape them, and the impact they go on to have through their work,” said Shane McGonigle, CEO, Marketing Institute Ireland.
“At MII, our role is to support marketers throughout that journey, providing opportunities to learn, connect, develop professionally and progress. We hope these stories encourage marketers at every stage of their career to reflect on the mark they are making and what they want to do next.”
The campaign also includes a new three-part podcast series exploring career development, leadership and the changing role of marketing professionals.
The first episode, featuring John Kelly, Marketing Manager at Musgrave, launches on Oct. 8, followed by Stephanie Bell, Head of Marketing at Mercedes-Benz, on Oct. 15 and Dee Cunniam, Head of Brand Marketing & Innovation at Britvic Ireland, on Oct. 22.
Further campaign profiles will feature Bryan Dignam of ESB, Karen Hendy of MII, Greta Hammel of Promise Gluten Free, Daniel McEvoy of Google Ireland and Jamie Caul of WaterWipes.
The campaign will continue over the coming months, with additional career insights and content from across MII’s membership base.
