                                                                                               Karen Neslon-Field

The Marketing Society of Ireland, in association with RTÉ, will host globally renowned media innovation expert Professor Karen Nelson-Field at a special breakfast event in RTÉ on March 22nd.

The theme of the breakfast seminar is ‘Visibility: The Art of Attention’, during which she will share valuable insights from the latest installment of her landmark ‘Benchmark Series’. This ground-breaking, two-year cross-platform research project focuses on how and why video advertising works for brands.

The project, which uses AI and machine learning to measure the real impact of modern advertising, is designed to challenge commonly held assumptions around audience attention both online and on television. The project’s results to date represent a major and important new contribution to the field of media science.

The event is one of the first to take place under the stewardship of the Marketing Society’s 2019 Council. Speaking in advance of the event, Chris Upton, the society’s newly appointed Chair said:

“We’re delighted to be joined by Professor Nelson-Field for what promises to be a fascinating event. The shake-up of the status-quo that has been triggered by the results of her Benchmark research series has been far reaching. Karen’s work sits on the true cutting-edge of what we know about marketing communications in general and about attention in particular. Professor Nelson-Field’s contribution will help set the tone for a 2019 calendar of events packed with new and valuable industry insights. Finally, I would like to extend to my sincere thanks to RTÉ our event partners for what I am sure will be a really interesting and informative morning.”
