Major Changes Set for Media Awards 2015

The Media Awards 2015 will take place this year on April 9th in the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Dublin.

The organisers of the Awards, have also issued a call for entries and the closing date for entries is March 2nd at 6pm and the shortlist will be announced on March 27th.

The chairman of judging panel for this year’s Awards is Paul Keenan, the CEO of Bauer Media. With over 25 years’ experience of the European media industry, Keenan was chairman of the judging panel for the 2013 Awards and is one of the leading figures in the UK media industry, presiding over a wide range of media brands that reach 22m people every week.

The organisers have also announced a change in the format of the Awards as well as a number of changes to the judging process.

Following extensive consultation with the media industry, shortlisted entrants to a number of award categories will undergo an “interview” process during which they will make the case for winning the award. The new changes cover Media Agency of the Year, Agency Network of the Year, Sales Team of the Year and Media Brand of the Year. This presentation is to give the judges a richer and clearer understanding of the shortlisted entries. The presentations themselves will take no longer than 20 minutes and will take place in late March 2015 on a date which has yet to be confirmed.  Again, following consultation with the media industry, a new category Best Use of Search, has been introduced and is open to all agencies and their clients.

In addition, the organisers are introducing silver and bronze trophies to replace the Certificates that were issued to Silver and Bronze winners on the night.

A significant change to this year’s Awards will be evident in the format and presentation on the night. The Awards presentation will now take place before the dinner and entertainment and is scheduled to start at 8.15pm sharp with dinner served at 9.45pm.

The organisers have also stressed that as this year’s Media Awards will be sell-out event, early booking is advisable.
