First Irish Students Graduate with Sponsorship Diplomas

Ten Irish students out of a total of 52 from around Europe have graduated with the highly regarded ESA Diploma, the only dedicated sponsorship academic course within the growing €26 billion European sponsorship market.

Organised by ESA, the diploma is a distance learning part-time course for sponsorship practitioners and marketers wanting to gain in-depth knowledge and develop their careers. This year saw the introduction of a tailored course for the Irish market with monthly evening seminars being coordinated by the Irish course sponsors Onside Sponsorship and Wilson Hartnell.

Course Director, Peter Raymond, said: “Ten students participated in this inaugural year and we’ve been encouraged by the tremendous support shown by the Irish sponsorship industry, with experts offering to lecture and host seminars. We believe that this qualification will quickly become a mandatory requirement for those wishing to practise in sponsorship or sports marketing in Ireland. I warmly congratulate all of the successful students and wish them much success in their future careers.”

The ESA Diploma has been running since 2012 and, so far, 130 students drawn from the UK, mainland Europe and as far afield as Singapore and India, have successfully passed.

Enrolments are being received for the 2015 course which starts in January, with an early bird fee option closing soon.
