Core Media Launches Educational & Training Offering

Core Media has launched a new educational offering called Core Knowledge which will offer a range of training courses for advertisers, media owners, advertising agencies and anyone using digital platforms for advertising and marketing purposes.

Core Knowledge’s courses are created and led by senior personnel who work in Core Media’s agencies, who will apply their expertise in the fields of media planning, media insights, media buying and digital to ensure that course contents are rooted in the real world.

The courses are based on a “practical things you can do” advice and information platform, tailored for a range of training needs; from those beginning their career, to those who need to refresh their skills.

Courses are structured to suit all requirements, with the choice of booking three hour sessions or a series catered around specific needs.

According to Nick Fletcher, Group Director with responsibility for Core Knowledge, “this is a logical extension of what we’ve been doing for our own people in recent years. We’ve run a range of training courses which have helped us to be awarded the No.1 workplace in our sector this year. Now we’re extending both the scope and range of courses to provide our industry with a comprehensive syllabus, delivered by our own skilled media practitioners.  We conducted research to help us tailor the course content to the specific requirements of each industry sector and brought in the training expertise of Michael Quilty to help us bring Core Knowledge to the market. We’re excited about Core Knowledge’s courses and how they can make a real difference for Irish businesses, big and small.”

Alan Cox, CEO of Core Media adds, “with the advent of digital media, the communications landscape is changing fast and it’s changing the way everyone is doing business in Ireland too. Anyone in marketing, advertising or the media needs to be up to speed on latest trends and opportunities, both in traditional and digital media, in order to remain competitive.”

With annual billings of €172m, Core Media is Ireland’s largest media communications group and was voted Agency Network of the Year at the Media Awards 2014. It was also voted as one of the 20 best places to work in Europe in 2014 by the Great Place to Work Institute.

Some of the three hour courses that the new business will offer include:

  • The advertiser’s media survival guide
  • How to ensure a brand gets the most from digital media
  • Optimum techniques for budget setting
  • Using data to drive the marketing plan
  • How to create media sales presentations that actually sell
  • 20 things every agency executive should know about media

In addition the Core Knowledge Diploma in Media – an 8 part introduction to the world of media communications is also available.
