Hickey Joins Board of EMN

Jessica Hickey has joined the board of Entertainment Media Networks (EMN), the company which publishes Entertainment.ie and Beaut.ie

According to Julian Douglas, MD of the company, “Jess has brought a great energy and knowledge to the company and has grown the revenues considerably over the past two years. Both entertainment.ie and beaut.ie will benefit hugely from her direction on the board.”

Hickey adds that she is looking forward to the coming year, “It’s an exciting time to be part of such a fast growing company within the dynamic world of digital publishing and advertising. I am honoured to be invited to join the board, and proud to be its first female member. I’m looking forward to working alongside, and learning from, some of the best brains in the media industry.”

According to Douglas, entertainment.ie business is now up by 30% year-on-year with similar growth levels forecasted for 2015. “In this constantly evolving online world we are seeing a definite recovery in the market and there is no reason why this can’t continue. Mobile advertising is now beginning take off for us, and what is more important is that this growth is not taking away from desktop but is additional.”

He adds that the site is also finding themselves handling more innovative campaigns than ever before. “We recently did an extensive online campaign for Guinness Amplify where, in addition to native and display, we created original content filming music videos and interviews with the likes of Ellie Goulding, Kodaline and Hozier, “he says.

On the Beaut.ie front it’s all about growth and delivering a purely female audience to advertisers according to Hickey. “Since we took over Beaut.ie in March we have increased page impressions by 100% We now have a highly targeted audience of beauty and fashion lovers that respect and follow the Beaut.ie brand religiously. They are opinion makers and influencers, and it’s a fantastic audience for any brand which wishes to reach a female audience.”
