BuyandSell.ie Relaunches with Site Revamp

The classified website BuyandSell.ie has been relaunched following a major investment by its parent company Communicorp, including a revamp of the site and a new brand identity.

According to Nóirín Ní Laocha, chief executive of BuyAndSell.ie, “BuyAndSell.ie still offers the simple reliable service that Irish people have used to find and flog their much loved items for the past 24 years, but now we doing it in a simpler, cleaner and more contemporary way. Irish consumers have a particular appetite for online retail, with projections of 20% growth year on year. We also love a good bargain. Having survived the worst recession in living history, we are more savvy in terms of how we spend our money. People are proud to shop smarter, to make their money go further, and buying and selling good quality, pre-owned and new items is an economical and conscientious way to do this. Frugality is the new fashionable!”

She says that the revamped site is offering consumers an opportunity to find or sell their items for free. “We are delighted to invite savvy buyers and sellers alike to check out our new site, and we are offering the chance to post up to 5 ads entirely free of charge. It’s a simple offer – there are no restrictions in terms of category or item value – just five free ads across any of our 17 categories! It’s the perfect time to get some extra cash before Christmas,” she says.

According to Ní Laocha, the site is close to finalising an app version. “We currently have apps in development for both IOS and Android which we plan to launch next month. Our long term view is to resume our place as the No.1 market place for buyers and sellers in Ireland,” she concludes.
