Fresh from a major revamp of independent.ie, the digital arm of Independent News & Media (IN&M) is ramping up its investment in its digital offering and is looking to recruit a range of digital media professionals for its expanded operations.
Independent Digital is seeking to hire a wide range of staff in areas such as production, editorial, product design, digital sales, business development, quality assurance, R&D and data science.
With the Irish digital advertising market expected to be worth in the order of €197m this year as brands and advertisers increase their investment in digital, IN&M’s digital operations have reported strong growth this year.
In a management statement last month, the group said that digital revenues were up by 17.8% in the first five months of 2014. This compares to growth of 14.6% in the same period in 2013. The statement noted that, “this performance is principally due to strong growth in our digital publishing operations, together with our NI classifieds business, with GrabOne showing marginal year-to-date growth.”
According to Fiona O’Carroll, managing director of INDO, the company is in the early stages of implementing a major new strategy. “We have some very big goals in terms of developing and taking to market a suite of new products,” she said. “For marketers, these products will be best in class platforms for partnering with us, so we are recruiting the best people we can find to help us build them.”
