The Real Reason Why the Publicom Merger Failed

Two weeks on from the fall-out from the failed merger of Publicis Groupe and Omnicom, the French agency Fred & Farid has somewhat mischievously claimed that it played a part in the termination of the nuptials.

Yes, the French do actually have a sense of humour and in a video, which has since gone viral (see below), the naughty boys and girls at the agency claims that they secretly orchestrated the fall-out by writing “love letters” to both Maurice Levy and John Wren and then asked WPP’s Martin Sorrell to stir things up  a bit for the heck of it. The result, as we all know by now, was a decision by both parties to go their separate ways.

A bit sad really but as they say in France, c’est la vie.
