CBS Outdoor (NI) Retains Translink

CBS Outdoor Northern Ireland has retained the Translink account following a competitive pitch. Translink operates the largest single advertising estate in Northern Ireland and is the leading  provider of public transport across Northern Ireland and services all key cities and towns.

CBS Outdoor will operate the Translink contract for a 5 year period until 2017. The contract covers advertising across the fleet of 1,400 buses on both Metro and Ulsterbus services. According to the OOH company, it has invested heavily in the evolution of the Translink advertising estate and recently launched the first back lit external bus formats to be seen in Northern Ireland. The signing of the new contract will also see CBS Outdoor develop new advertising formats across the N I Railways train fleet providing further opportunities for brands and advertisers to reach the valuable commuter audience.

Martin Heatley, General Manager at CBS Outdoor Northern Ireland said “We are delighted to have been appointed by Translink to continue managing on vehicle advertising across Northern Ireland’s Bus network and are excited by the opportunity to continue our strong relationship and deliver a quality professional service and implement market-leading innovations”.

Catherine Mason, Translink Group Chief Executive said, “Following a comprehensive tendering process CBS Outdoor have been successful in securing this contract.  They demonstrated significant expertise in creating and delivering value for their clients by reaching audiences out of home with a range of best in class formats and ground-breaking initiatives. They understand our business and operating requirements and help deliver considerable revenue to us whilst working safely and unobtrusively in our depots.  With more and more people using the bus and train this kind of advertising is an exciting medium and we are looking forward to building on our relationship with  CBS Outdoor who is well placed to deliver for us.”
