1m Users Download Sky News App

 More that 1m UK and Irish people have downloaded Sky News' free iPhone App since its launch in May 2009 according to the company.

The iPhone app delivers breaking news to handsets via text, images and video and has been one of the top apps available for download on the iTunes store over the last six months.

As part of its digital strategy Sky News has also rolled out a new mobile version of its website that has been "skinned" for mobile users.

The new service is available free of charge to users accessing the service through m.skynews.com on their mobile device. A text version is available for users who don't have smartphones.
