Insurance company Zurich has struck a deal to sponsor the Irish Independent’s award-winning podcast, The Indo Daily in a deal brokered by UM Ireland.

The podcast is hosted by group head of news Kevin Doyle and Ireland editor Fionnán Sheahan.

‘This partnership opens a valuable avenue for Zurich to connect with our target audience on a deeper level, leveraging the Indo Daily’s trusted platform to deliver our brand message effectively,” says Louise Beirne, customer marketing lead, Zurich

“We believe partnering with a reputable and influential platform will undoubtedly drive awareness, engagement, and ultimately, continued success for the Zurich Pensions campaign.”

“In 2023, The Indo Daily recorded exponential growth at the same time as securing some impressive industry Podcast awards. We at Mediahuis are absolutely delighted to be working closely with UM Ireland & Zurich on this multiplatform sponsorship driving frequent awareness and consideration for Zurich across audio, video, digital display & print,” adds Hughie Devine, head of sponsorships and programmatic partnerships, Mediahuis Ireland.

At Zurich and UM, we know that small actions can have great impact; but we also know that getting people to take that first step to start a pension can seem like a big leap.  That’s why we needed a property that spoke to our target audience at a high frequency to get them over the line and invest in their future. The much-trusted Indo Daily podcast, with its large, loyal listenership was the perfect property to align with, to deliver a high frequency message to our audience,” says Maura Ashe, managing partner, UM Ireland.
