TU Students FaceItDown with Javelin and Toyota

Advertising and marketing students in 4th year at TU Tallaght have teamed up with Javelin and Toyota on their final year marketing project.

The students were briefed at Toyota Ireland HQ this week. The project they have been briefed on is Toyota’s faceitdown initiative which is in association with the RSA and rewards drivers for leaving their mobile phones face down while driving.

To date over 40,000 drivers have signed up, making our roads safer. The students now are tasked with taking the initiative to the next level, they will spend the next five months researching, conceptualising, ideating and planning all culminating in a formal presentation to the Toyota senior marketing team, directors at Javelin and their lecturers next May.

Aoife Hofler, director of media and marketing at Javelin says: “ I have worked with the final year students for the past four years now and I am delighted to bring this collaboration to Javelin. They will gain a really rounded experience of the full service agency model getting access to some of the best creatives, account handlers and media planners in the industry. The quality of work gets better every year and I look forward to see what the students will come back with in 2020.”

Zoe Bradley, marketing communications & PR manager at Toyota Ireland adds: “Faceitdown is an initiative we are extremely proud of here at Toyota. It’s an innovative way to encourage drivers to keep our roads safer and a clear demonstration of our brand promise Built For A Better World. We can’t wait to see what the Students bring to it.”
