Exterion Media Launches First Pulse Smart Hubs in Belfast

Ryan Hoy (Marketing Manager) and Martin Heatley (General Manager), Exterion Media Northern Ireland

Exterion Media’s partnership with Pulse Smart Hub has officially launched with a network of thirty-two 75-inch digital advertising screens strategically located throughout Belfast City Centre.

The Pulse Smart Hubs house a wide range of civic and consumer benefits including free Wi-Fi, free local and national calls, mobile phone charging, visitor way-finders and a host of well-being improvements that include life-saving defibrillators. The 75 inch screens will broadcast both full motion commercial advertising and civic information messages.

According to Martin Heatley, General Manager at Exterion Media: We’re delighted to partner with Pulse Smart Hub to deliver this exciting and innovative project. Belfast is a changing city and is adapting to the demands of its inhabitants and visitors. The increased connectivity and enhanced public services will be of great benefit for the people of Belfast, whilst the hub’s screens will benefit brands seeking to connect with audiences out-of-home.  Pulse Smart Hubs are a welcome addition to our Northern Ireland portfolio, working in synergy with bus advertising to strengthen our reach of mobile, active, urban audiences”.

The new digital out-of-home network made its debut at the end of last month with a host of local and national brands that included Coca-Cola, Abbey Insurance, Belfast City Council and Translink. The network will continue to expand to 40 screens in the coming weeks with additional locations appearing in Belfast’s fashionable Botanic Avenue, and around the Victoria Square shopping centre area.

Belfast City Council has granted permission for 25 of smart hubs to date.  Once complete, the Pulse Smart Hub network will boast sixty 75-inch screens, offering brands even greater visibility through a digital advertising platform that engages Belfast’s shoppers, socialisers, city workers and visitors alike.

Ryan Hoy, Marketing Manager at Exterion Media adds: “Video is one of the fastest growing ad formats and is currently being driven by online and mobile, especially social video. The exciting combination of video and out-of-home allows advertisers to captivate audiences and deliver engaging high quality video content in a brand-safe and public environment whilst working alongside other video channels such as TV, cinema and online”.

He also adds that just under half of all Pulse Smart Hub screens are full motion capable but this number will grow as the network expands.
