IN&M Creates Group Wide Advertising Sales Division

Independent News & Media (IN&M) has finalised a major overhaul of its advertising sales department by merging the sales functions of the Irish Independent, Independent.ie, the Sunday Independent, the Herald, the Sunday World and Sundayworld.com.

The newly enlarged sales team will be headed up by Karen Preston, who has assumed the title of group advertising director while Mairead Kearns of the Sunday World, takes on the role of head of sales with Andrew McDermott assuming the role of group agency manager.

“We have a great sales team. Their dedication, experience, tenacity, creativity and client care are second to none.  Our integrated sales approach is adapting to the ever evolving media landscape.  We are well under way in making the journey across the new INM roadmap. Right now the INM sales department is a very exhilarating place to be” says group advertising director Karen Preston.

The creation of a group-wide sales team follows on from the recent introduction of a new campaign team to the sales department which is headed by a campaign manager, a native editor, a social manager and a campaign designer. Alongside the addition of the campaign team is the appointment of three account directors who bring with them a wealth of hands-on agency experience.

According to Karen Preston, the new integrated group sales structure is designed to “optimise campaign performance, provide a strategic 360 degree approach and to enable opportunities for synergies across the many innovative products and advertising solutions that the INM sales team have to offer to their advertisers and brands.”
