The Irish brand experience and creative event agency Green Light Events has rebranded as Cogs & Marvel and has appointed Dave Smyth,  the former MD of Ogilvy & Mather Ireland, as its new CEO.

The new rebrands comes as the company embarks on a major expansion plan aimed at doubling the size of the business over the next few years including the opening of a new office in San Francisco.

Founded  10 years ago by Róisín Callaghan and Jane Gallagher, the agency is currently looking to hire a range of new staff, including creative directors, graphic designers and production/technical engineers.

According to co-founder Róisín Callaghan: “To grow out, we want to expand our reach to clients in other industries and in other geographic markets.  Establishing our first international office on the west coast of USA in San Francisco is the most logical first move.  Stronger strategic thinking and creativity is at the heart of our growth ambitions and the re-brand to Cogs & Marvel, which is reflective of our commitment to deliver the ‘How’ and ‘Wow’ factor for our client events, is an accelerator that we feel will help us to achieve traction quicker.”

Work on the rebrand design was undertaken by The Pudding branding agency.

These latest developments follow a period of sustained growth over the past 12 months which saw Cogs & Marvel grow its workforce from 16 people to 40 people while revenues increased to almost €18m last year from €10m in 2015.

Among the client brands that Cogs & Marvel has worked with are leading brands such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, Uber, Mastercard, Fáilte Ireland and The Financial Times.
