Irish Mirror and Dublin Live teamed up with fellow Reach plc owned site Liverpool Echo to bring its massively popular Liverpool FC podcast, Blood Red, to Irish shores for the first time last week.

Hundreds of Liverpool fans, who entered an exclusive competition via Irish Mirror and Dublin Live, turned out as the Blood Red podcast made its first appearance outside of Liverpool for a special Champions League edition, painting the Emerald Isle Red for one night only.

Blood Red has 360,000 monthly listeners and more people listen to the podcast in Dublin than Liverpool itself!

Carlsberg, working with agency partner Carat, collaborated with the team at Mirror Media to put on an exclusive live recording of the show in Dublin’s Dtwo.

The host on the night was Off The Ball’s Phil Egan, a life-long Reds fan, who was joined by Ian Doyle and James Pearce from the Liverpool Echo and Steve Daly from the LFC Daytrippers podcast.

“The reaction to Blood Red coming to Dublin for a live Champions League preview was phenomenal,” said Mirror Media’s Head of Digital, Alan Curley.

“From the outset, our readers/fans were genuinely excited about the prospect of attending a live Blood Red show and that enthusiasm was matched by the team at Carlsberg who have a deep affinity with Liverpool FC.

“The tactical collaboration came together seamlessly from the moment Origi scored that vital goal to welcoming over 250 of the most fanatical Liverpool fans to DTwo on Wednesday night.”

According to Hannah Todd,Carlsberg Ireland: “We at Carlsberg are delighted to be able to work with Mirror Media and Carat Ireland to execute this partnership.   Partnerships continue to be a successful and exciting medium for Carlsberg with a focus on bringing our brand to life for our consumers.  The Blood Red podcast in DTwo Dublin is an example of how we can turnaround brand experiences and digital amplification in a short time frame, making media partnerships like this a continued and more attributable focus for us.
