ZenithOptimedia won the coveted Grand Prix at the annual Media Awards which were held in the Clayton Hotel, in Dublin last night.
The Grand Prix, which is sponsored by RTÉ Media Sales, saw the Core Media-owned agency win for its stand-out work for the charity ALONE and “the Power and impact of a simple thank you.”
According to the citation on the night, “the Awards competition winners produced a range of exceptional work that proves the industry to be vibrant and exciting as we drag ourselves out of the misery of the past years. It was difficult to arrive at a Grand Prix among the great category winners. The contemplation, the probing beyond the cardboard has produced a splendid – yet simple response to the problem in a difficult scandal riven market –. From the very start and with a negligible budget, the team developed a unique idea: “Thank You”, and executed it in a simple manner on social media that spread into all media resulting in a fourfold increase in donations and new volunteers, and long term donations rose by 700%. Zenith did a great job for ALONE.”
ZenithOptimedia was also the biggest winner on the night, scooping five Gold, one Silver and two Bronze awards on the night. One of the Golds was in the Best Collaboration Between Agency & Media Owner (Multimedia) along with RTÉ, PML and INM Sales.
