RTÉ Begins Euro 2016 Countdown with Hyundai Sponsorship Deal

With just over a week until the Republic of Ireland’s fist match in the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament, RTÉ Media Sales has announced that Hyundai Ireland will sponsor RTÉ Sport’s coverage of the UEFA EURO 2016 across all platforms: RTÉ television, RTÉ radio and online and mobile on RTÉ.ie and RTÉ Player.

RTÉ Sport’s coverage will include the live broadcast of 31 matches* including all of the Republic of Ireland’s games and the European Championships Final, across RTÉ2 and online on RTÉ.ie and RTÉ Player where they will also be available for catch-up. In addition, Ireland’s UEFA EURO 2016 games will be exclusively live on RTÉ Radio 1 and daily UEFA EURO 2016 newsdesks across both RTÉ Radio 1 and RTÉ 2FM will provide the latest news and updates.

The TV element of Hyundai’s sponsorship includes stings on the daily UEFA EURO 2016 highlights programmes on RTÉ Two and across the UEFA EURO 2016 build-up programme. On radio, it includes stings on live coverage of UEFA EURO 2016 on RTÉ 2FM and the daily UEFA EURO 2016 News Desks across RTÉ Radio 1. Meanwhile on digital, it covers sponsorship of the UEFA EURO 2016 section on RTÉ.ie with significant brand presence on mobile sites and Apps as well as pre-rolls on live streaming and on demand viewing across RTÉ.ie and RTÉ Player on all platforms.

Darragh Maloney will anchor RTÉ2’s live coverage with Damien Duff joining the team of panellists including John Giles, Eamon Dunphy, Liam Brady, Richie Sadlier, and Didi Hamann with Ray Houghton, Ronnie Whelan, Brian Kerr and Jim Beglin on commentary duty alongside George Hamilton and Ger Canning, Stephen Alkin and John Kenny.  Each evening of the tournament RTÉ2 will have a full highlights programme presented by Jacqui Hurley and Aidan Power with panellists including former Ireland internationals Kenny Cunningham and Clinton Morrison and current Irish Women’s internationals Stephanie Roche and Niamh Fahey.

RTÉ Player’s dedicated Euro 2016 hub is also bringing fans a host of extras including a collection of the best soccer documentaries, soccer skills videos from Irish freestyle YouTube star Dara Coyne and ‘The Road to France’ collection featuring all twelve of Ireland’s Euro 2016 qualifying matches.
