2fm On Course to Make a Profit in 2016 Says Dan Healy

danhealyRTÉ’s 2fm is on course to make a profit this year after breaking even during 2015 according to the station’s boss Dan Healy.

In an interview in today’s Irish Times, Healy added that while accounts for the broadcaster for 2015 had yet to be signed off, it was his understanding that the station had broken even last year and that it would be a net contributor to the broadcaster’s coffers in 2016.

He also indicated that advertising revenues in the first six weeks of 2016 were up 24% on last year while revenues for 2015 were 27% higher than they were in 2014.

Healy, who joined the station in 2013, has implemented a root and branch overhaul of the station, introducing a raft of new presenters and mixing up the station’s schedule with a view to winning over a younger audience, while he has also met with considerable success in achieving the station’s turnaround.
