Independent News & Media (IN&M) has entered the magazine market in Northern Ireland through its Belfast Telegraph subsidiary which has bought four titles from Greer Publications, the Belfast-based publisher.

The Belfast Telegraph is buying four titles, Ulster Business, Ulster Grocer, Hospitality Review NI and Northern Woman.

The privately-owned Greer Publications is one of Northern Ireland’s leading publishers and is owned by James and Gladys Greer. IN&M has not disclosed the cost of the acquisition.

It is understood that both parties have been in discussion for several months and Greer Publications will retain ownership of a number of titles it publishes, including CarSport, Garage Trader and the construction magazine Specify.
