The Lowdown

Lyons Tea has launched a new campaign that centers around the idea that LYONS PUTS THE TALK INTO TEA. The TV spot opens on a view of the magical Lyons Tea factory. Inside this most unusual factory, the Master Blender is giving a young Apprentice his first tour. The master blender proudly shows the tea caddies to the Apprentice and lets him know that the is where all the talk that goes into Lyons is stored. In the launch ad, the Master Blender takes down a caddy labeled "Footie Talk" and hands it to the Apprentice. They continue walking until they come to a set of great doors which the Master Blender throws open to reveal the Blending Room, a welcoming hive of industry where many Blenders are hard at work, mixing and sampling different tea mixes.  The Master Blender explains that this is where they actually put the talk into the tea. He takes the "Football Talk" caddy from the Apprentice and carefully spoons a tiny measure  of the Football Talk into an upturned open Pyramid Teabag. The apprentice understands that once people drink the tea, the talk comes out. We cut to a sitting room with two older ladies. They sip from their cup of tea and continue their amusing conversation about football! Lyons puts the talk into tea is sparked from the knowledge that when Lyons Tea is drunk, the conversation starts to flow. From small talk, to pillow talk, from gossip and scandal to sports,whatever the topic, Lyons fuels the conversation.
