NNI - National Newspapers of Ireland - is a non-profit organisation representing Daily, Sunday and National Weekly newspapers sold in Ireland, 18 titles in total.

NNI is committed to promoting and portraying newspapers and their digital activities as the most comprehensive source of news and information, and as the most effective medium for advertising.

NNI believe that Irish national newspapers are vital to the democracy of our state and the literacy of people in Ireland, particularly younger people.

The NNI represents the interests of its members on a wide range of industry issues. This representation includes:

•working towards a fair and balanced legislative framework that brings Ireland into line with other EU jurisdictions (e.g. press regulation /ensuring fair competitive framework between broadcast and print media); •protecting the environment by adhering to best practices. •highlighting the unfairness of a system that taxes literacy (VAT) ensuring that copyright legislation protects the publisher's investment. •putting in place mechanisms to ensure press standards and best industry practice. •Promoting newspapers as a creative and effective medium for advertising. •Promoting newspaper readership.
