IAB Appoints New CEO

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has appointed Suzanne McElligot as its first chief executive in Ireland.

McElligot joins the IAB from the Dublin Institute of Technology where she is a lecturer in marketing.

The IAB has been actively looking for a chief executive for the past few months and it is understood that it received over 20 applications for the job which is a part-time position.

The IAB will be run along the lines of similar IABs in Europe and will represent the interests of Ireland's growing digital marketing sector. Many of Ireland's leading online companies including Google, Yahoo!, RTE, the Irish Times, MSN, Daft.ie, Trader Media Group and Crimtan have already signed up as founding  members. In addition a number of these companies have provided seed funding to cover the costs of running the organization.
