Yahoo Remains Optimistic for 2010
Internet giant Yahoo has reported a stronger than anticipated set of results for the last quarter of 2009. According to the company revenue rose to $1.73bn during fourth quarter, a 10% increase on the previous quarter.
However for the full year, revenue was down 4% of $6.46bn. The company also says that it expects revenue for Q1 of 2010 to be in the range of $1.57bn - $1.67bn. The company also said that it was optimistic about the remainder of 2010.
According to the company display adverting grew 26% during the period compared to a 16% increase during the same period in 2008. Search grew by 4% as it continues to struggle with the might of arch rival Google.
The advertising services and sales agreement which it has agreed with Microsoft was inked in December and the two partners hope to have it finalized within the next month as they try to muscle up to Google.
